Tanzania visa process

You can apply for the tourist visa at the Tanzanian embassies and consulates in your country of residency. Some embassies offer the application form online, but the application process still takes time.

You need a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date when entering the country. If you are planning to enter the country on more than one occasion on this trip, then you may be able to get a multiple entry visa.

US passport holders pay 100 US$ for standard single, double and multiple entry visa. Canadian passport holders pay 75 US$. EU citizens and most other nationals pay 50 US$ or 50 €.

You can obtain the following visas in Tanzania: Burundi, Congo (Zaire), Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

NEW VISA PROCESS IN TANZANIA

Please be aware that with immediate effect Kilimanjaro airport has changed the process of issuing visas on arrival. Clients arriving in Kilimanjaro without a visa now need to complete the following process:

•   Queue for a Government Control Number
•   Queue to pay for this at the bank
•   Queue for Immigration to check and issue the visa

We would really appreciate your help in letting your guests know about this change, and strongly recommend that those that still have time before they travel apply for their Tanzania visa online at https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/start The online process asks for more information than a visa on arrival, and are issued within 2 – 3 weeks.

The changes at Kilimanjaro have meant that the visa on arrival process can take in excess of two hours, and we’d really prefer that your guests did not have to go through that. We’ve been reassured that measures are being put in place to make this quicker, but until that happens we feel that the above recommendation is our best bet. borrowed this from other groups, and thought we should share it so that you share it with your clients. “
